Claiming EIC on parent - has tax levy

Hello,

I have been supporting my mother for the last two years, and would like to claim her as a dependent under EIC. She has a levy on her federal taxes for unpaid federal student loans. Will her levy affect my return? In other words, can they take her past dues from my tax return if I claim her?

Thanks in advance!
