Is it possible to apply for Social Security benefits on the Internet?

As a matter of fact, individuals can apply for Social Security Retirement online. When a completed application is received at your local social security office, it will be checked to ensure that all the relevant information needed has been submitted and so as to arrive upon a decision on your claim.

Remember that after filing for this application, an individual may not apply for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits online.
