Asked to submit 1099 for interview expenses I recently traveled to participate in on-site interviews for a job at a company with whom I am not employed. I incurred expenses for gasoline and hotel -- which the company agreed to pay. In order to be reimbursed for my expenses, I have been asked to complete an expense report and to submit a 1099 so that "I can be set up in the system." Is it appropriate for me to have to complete a 1099 in this circumstance? If the answer is yes, should the company be supplying me the form? Or should I simply obtain from the IRS site?
I thought this to be a rather unusual request. |
