What are the rules governing the allowable investments by IRA's?

IRS rules prohibiting investments by IRA's"

The IRS has established rules that specifically prohibit the following investments by IRAs, and these are as follows;

1. Investments in life insurance,

2. Investments in collectibles (e.g., artwork, antiques, metals, gems, and most coins,).

3. Investments in an S corporation shares.

4. The exercise of stock options granted by your employer.
