1099 Help

ok so I started working for this company out of desperation a hole in the wall type of spot...I did not fill out any type of employment papers I did not sign anything to work there (but I may have given my ss, I cant remember.)

Problem is this when I started working there was never any set hours they kept fluctuating (we got paid on the 1-15) some pay checks were 300 others 700. a schedule was never set, they were never serious about giving me one. no benefits over time or anything. The one day out of the blue they told me after the first I would go down to "part-time" a few hours a week but funny i was always part-time. I found out later that is how they avoid firing people that just cut their hours. and make it pointless for you to commute 40 mins into the city spending 4.50 for a a couple of hours of work 10.00 to be exact.

Ok so that said they also paid out of a company check not a payroll check and never put that it was for work in the memo section.

So eventually I left they were avoided my questions and the promises to pay me more after 3 months ( i worked there from September to January) even though they were "happy" with my work then after the first of the years the cut my hours for no reason told to me.

now I get a email stating this "I have your 1099 tax form that we filed for you. "

I mean whats dose this mean for me why did I not fill this out to began with, they were not taking any money out of my pay check for taxes does this mean I will owe the IRS money cause I worked there for 3 months under the table"

Are they trying to get me into trouble or get them selves out of trouble?

How are they able to fill out a tax form for me when there is nothing stating I worked there?
