S Corp Officer working outside her firm I am an officer/director of an S Corp and have been working outside my corp since 2006. My husband, also an officer, still works for our S Corp - I do not collect any salary from our S Corp, only him.
I recently applied for NYS Unemployment and will be receiving Partial Unemployment due to lack of work from yet another corporation I have been employed by since Jan 2011. In speaking to the rep @ Unemp, he asked if I were an officer and I responded that I was a director and I haven't collected a salary since 2010. I have been working for this other company over a year and been taken down to 16 hours instead of 40+. He determined that my claim was valid and told me to call in once a week with my days worked, and I would receive some type of payment for the days I'm missing.
My question is: Can an "officer/director" from another corp receive Unemployment for working at a different job she is employed at? I will be collecting out of this other corp's Uemployment Ins. NOT mine? Correct?! Please advise.......... |
