IRS Is Taking My Money For My Money For My Dads Companies Taxes

My dad apparently owed some employment taxes for 2009 i believe. In 2010 I started my own company. A few months ago an IRS agent was at his house while I was there and told me they found where I had signed some of his checks so they are going to hold my company liable. Now they are levying my bank account and accounts receivable and I didn't even get a notice. So I was left with 13k worth of bad checks and more payroll that I couldn't make because they levied 16k from my account. I called her and told her. She said she might release some but never did. Now companies wont pay me because of these levies. If I singed any checks it would have been because my dad was out of town and something HAD to be paid. I was never on any of the bank accounts.

My accountant recommended going through the taxpayers advocate before I pay an attorney big bucks for something that isn't my fault. A week later they called back and said they talked to the agent and that I would have to deal directly with her. So I got an attorney who is supposed to be the best. But now 2 weeks later he still hasn't been able to get a hold of her. Is there anything else I can do?????? I am really stuck here and have several mad employees because I cant pay them and barely able to finish jobs and quarterly payments coming up at the end of the month.!!!!!

As you can see,a source of IRS help comes from the Taxpayer Advocate Service, an independent organization within the IRS charged with assisting taxpayers who are experiencing economic harm, who are seeking help in resolving tax problems that have not been resolved through normal channels, or who believe that an IRS system or procedure is not working as it should. You may be eligible for assistance if you are experiencing economic harm or significant cost (including fees for professional representation);you have experienced a delay of more than 30 days to resolve a tax issue; or you have not received a response or resolution to their problem by the date promised by the IRS.The service is free, confidential, tailored to meet your needs as an individual. There is at least one local taxpayer advocate in each state. You can contact the Taxpayer Advocate Service by calling its toll-free line at 1-877-777-4778 or TTY/TTD 1-800-829-4059 to determine whether they are eligible for assistance.
