Is this the time to invest in the Stock Market?

Any Financial experts on this website that can advise as whether or not it is worth increasing my asset allocation to High Cap Stocks? I think 2012 is an election year and I suspect we might get a huge stock rally, right, as is the tradition?

Any thoughts anybody?

Well, now does not appear to be the time to take the risk in my opinion. I have advised my clients to be fairly defensive and maintain a conservative portfolio of short term bonds.

I think there are some serious headwinds in the market that will prevent a higher stock prices and hence an aggressive portfolio will suffer substantial declines in valuation.

Europe is suffering from the Greek crisis and Asia is slowing down, particularly China! Here in the US we are having anemic growth and employment gains are weak, thus expect little or no growth in the foreseeable future.

I would never trust the stock market to make money! The Stock Market is for the pro's only. I instead would focus only on investing in Annuities that have some variable component to it!

This is the best form of investment in my opinion that would assure you of a constant steady stream of long term monthly payments.

For more conservative investment, I would go for a Fixed Annuity in which you have guarantees associated with this investment! I am only looking for guaranty returns on my investment. The Stock markets past returns going back into the 80's and 90's no longer hold any truth today.

Too many folks have been burned by the stock market these days, and it seems only those folks on Wall Street have all the tools and connections to make the tangible gains on their investments, not the ordinary folks.

I think that the Stock Market offers terrific value especially on Tech Stocks such as Apple and Oracle. These are both fantastic stocks and have long term growth potential that exceed 15%.

I would not shy out of investing in certain stocks and would maintain an aggressive position on these 2 companies! Of course I am sure that are other stock plays in this market, but the key thing is to discriminate your choices based on Strong fundamentals and Market Dominance and look for Companies that have strong cashflows.

My thoughts!

Dow falls below 12k; stocks head for 6th down week

Have you read the headlines today?

Dow falls below 12k; stocks head for 6th down week

In this environment, I would not even invest a $ in the stock market! This is getting more speculative by the day, and for the average Joe, the market is rigged and dangerous. The small guy always loses most of the time, and then we tend to get aggressive in an effort to recover our lost investments sustained from 2001 thru 2003 period. The small guy continues to lose and never learns his lessons.

My 2 cents to this subject!
