A Client stiffed me on an invoice is it tax deductable?

Hi-

A client I did quite a bit of work for did not pay his invoices, he has several clients taking him to small claims as it is now, and he has all but said i will not be paid.

Is this considered a business loss? Does it have any tax impact at all? The amount is under $5000

Thanks in advance.

SBee
