What are the benefits of Incorporating?

Many sole proprietors are interested in knowing what the tax benefits are of forming an incorporation or creating an LLC. Can you clarify what the benefits are between c-corps and s-corps? What about the steps you go about to file at a state level? Are filing companys such as MyCorporation, an Intuit company, excellent sources of filing? What are the benefits of having MyCorp do the filing for you?
