Overseas Rental Loss

Hi everyone,

We purchased an overseas rental property in 2008. The property is generating a loss.

When we filed our 2008 tax returns, we did not incorporate the overseas rental loss into our returns. We owed taxes for 2008 and paid it when we filed our returns.

Are we able to go back to amend the 2008 return and have the overseas rental loss offset our 2008 income and obtain a refund?

Thanks very much for any info.
