Temporary Work Location - Driving & Parking I live (permanent residence) 30 miles from my permanent work location. My employer has placed me at a temporary work location (3 months) 50 miles from my permanent residence. I drive past my permanent work location to get to my temporary location. I have tried to expense 40 miles a day (to and from back to office) and parking. They are denying the driving because i did not stop at the office first. They also rejected the parking saying that is my expense at the new location. They are claiming this is how the IRS law works and they will not reimburse me.
Questions are -
1. Are they correct and i must stop into the office first. (office opens at 7:30 new location i start at 6am).
2. If i am entitled to reimbursement can someone tell me which IRS tax section so i can discuss with the office.
Sorry just frustrating i want to be reimbursed for my driving minimum. The above situation was last summer, i am being sent back this summer again. The temporary location is all summer 7 days a week 10-12 hours a day. my typical work is 5 days a week 45 hours. I am salaried and it just sucks. |
