Multi-state, multi LLC--should I consolidate everything?

I have an existing consulting-related LLC registered in FL from where I moved a couple of years ago. I also just incorporated an LLC in IL where I also once lived and still have a mailing address. That LLC will legally receive income from Oregon from cannabis-related equipment purchased there. I am a resident of VT and have a mailing address there too. Most of the year, however, I live out of the country and I earn money via my consulting business (remote working).

My questions are: was it a mistake to register the second LLC in IL rather than VT where there's no income tax? Should I reregister both LLC's in VT or does it matter? What else should I know before things get further along?
Thanks for your help.
