Working OverTime

Hi All -

I am trying to get assistance calculating how much Over Time I am able to work without it getting to the point where it isn't worth the extra time. For example, last year I was pulling ~80 hour weeks, and getting paid significantly less than what I should due to it being taxed so heavily.

What information is needed, and how can I calculate how much OT I can work before it isn't worth it?

Thanks for your help in advance!

basically, you need to contact HR/your employer for more accurate info:in general, as you can see, you, as a taxpayer, give your form W-4 to employer. so that your employer can figure how much federal income tax to withhold from your pay.in general, you adjust your paycheck withholding by claiming allowances , I mean number of withholdings, on your W-4. An allowance helps you determine your tax refund or taxes owed on your tax return. It can also help you determine whether or not you qualify for tax deductions or tax credits. the more allowances you claim, the less federal income tax your employer will withhold from your paycheck (the bigger your take home pay). The fewer allowances you claim, the more federal income tax your employer will withhold from your paycheck (the smaller your take home pay). the amount of withholding is credited towards your tax due each year. If you don't have enough withholding, you'll owe irs/your state at tax time. If you have too much withholding, you'll be due a refund. The key is to find the appropriate balance
