W-4 claiming 0, 1 or 2 allowances. Solution

Hello Folks,

I live in Texas. I am a single individual with no Children to claim, a girlfriend, her sister and my brother living under my roof.

I am an engineer and make 51,000 annualy Salary without counting my other business on the side profit.

For the past 3 years I have claimed 0, the first year on my taxes.
The second year I claimed 1. And the third year I claimed 3.

It is November now in 2017 and tax season is around the corner in March.

For these past 3 years, they have been taken way too much funds from my monthly check. Currently I am being deducted 3 thousand dollars every month, claiming 3 allowances on my W4 for 2017. The years before it has been even worst. Usually on march I barely get 1 thousand back. and the gov keeps the rest. I am kind of tired of this situation.

I am asking for advice from anybody that has found an effective solution to this or know a relative or someone that did. How I could adjust my W4 today from my employer (which is possible) to not receive a large refund on March but to also not be owing anything back.

When it comes to being honest, do the feds really ask a name and social security of 2 dependents I could potentially claim on my taxes? Is this really truth or just a myth? Because from what I have heard here in the City, a lot of Americans are actually doing just that to have a tax break. They will put 5 allowances total claiming themselves and head of household equaling =3 plus 2 additional domestic partners who they live with as dependents, that makes = 5 total allowances.

I just want to be able to our lives without this nightmare penalizing us every time for not marrying and having kids. Which I find to be a personal decision.

To IRS, you will be neither a borrower nor a lender. To make the change, you need to file a new W-4 with your employer. This will change the amount that comes out of your paycheck. You should do this any time there's a major change in your life such as marriage, birth of a child or purchase of a home. Each of these circumstances can affect the amount of tax you'll eventually owe. The IRS offers an interactive withholding allowance calculator as I showed below and a couple of work sheets on page two of Form W-4 to help you figure out just what changes you need to make to your withholding amount. This Govt website hope can fulllly be helpful; https://www.irs.gov/individuals/irs-...ing-calculator

When it comes to being honest, do the feds really ask a name and social security of 2 dependents I could potentially claim on my taxes\======>on your 1040 return absolutely however when it comes to W4 not really; Your W-4 form may be the only leeway that the IRS gives you. You may take advantage of that. You get to decide how much or how little you pay them throughout the year. The actual total tax you pay does not change; just pay now or pay later. If your circumstances have you adding up a high amount of allowances, you can always claim less and get more of a refund after filing. Some taxpayers actually prefer to pay more over the course of the year instead of getting more in their paychecks. You can even claim zero allowances so that the maximum is withheld. In most cases, this will guarantee you a tax refund from the IRS since more than necessary was withheld throughout the year.

Allowances conclude how little or how much your employer will withhold from your paychecks throughout the year for taxes. In other words, the size of your tax refund or tax due to the IRS after filing your taxes. You can claim as little as zero allowances or as many as apply to you and your tax situation. The ideal situation , however it is almost impossible ,is to break even; no tax owed and no tax refund.
