minerals capilal gains

I would like to set up an online discussion (email) for pay with anyone who is competent in dealing with sales of NG minerals RofWay etc. This will be to help myself and family prepare for next year taxes. One question is Can backtracking inflation rate 20 years create a basis for inherited minerals that we just sold. Also if NG was worth more per 1000 cu. feet back then than it is now wouldn't that also increase the basis Thanks ED
