My taxes from 2006 and 2007 have been placed into an NON COLLECTABLE status due to my disability and lack of income. I guess last of 2016 I contacted IRS to see if I qualified to have my lines withheld in their Fresh start program and was told that no: I needed to have had 3 payments direct debilitated from my bank account and then I was sent a letter telling me those payments would be $574 a month. Needless to say, this program is set up so no one can get in at those prices. I contacted collections at the IRS and asked about a payment plan and was told that I still did not make enough, and when I asked about an offer in compromise I was shoot down quickly, why is this? Isn't some money better than none and a bill piling up? Can. I go ahead an do an OIC and see where it gets me. While still sending in payments?
