Hey, Firstly let me thank anyone who does give an answer. My question is I'm doing my taxes for this year. and I came in with like 28K and change but am only what looks to be recieving 650ish in a refund. However last year I made 22K and change and was able to get back about 1300ish.

I did not claim head of household last year, and I wasn't gonna claim it this year either bc I don't really have proof that I pay more than 50% of the expenses. However if I did claim HOH this year I'd be getting 1300ish back.

I just dont get what changed from one year to the next besides making some more money.
