missed deductions

My husband and I gross around $ 47,000/year. We both claim married -0- on our W-4's, but somehow we still seem to owe federal income tax. Last year, H&R Block did our taxes, and I believe they missed possible deductions. I am going to do our taxes myself this year, and I want to be sure I am doing it correctly. We are both required to wear clothing that is not our everyday wear. Is this tax deductible? If so, am I required to have receipts? My husband also pays union dues. These were missed on my tax return last year. What can I do to try and get this money back? What form do I need to file to claim these duductions?
