I have been looking for an answer to my question and have been unable to find one. I am getting ready to start in the insurance industry and currently have an out of state phone number. I am going to need to change so that I have an in state number but am wondering if it would be easier for tax purposes to get a separate phone that is only used for business purposes? Either way I go I am guessing I need to get a detailed bill saying what calls were made as well as text messages? How would data work if I don't get a second plan?

Another question that I am curious about. If I purchase things for my business but use a gift card, can I still deduct that?
