My mother in law is a dependent/tax question

I spoke with a lawyer here in KY and he informed me that my mother in law who lived with me all of 2014 can be calimed as a dependent. She bought a car in 2014. She is not required to file taxes. What I want to know is can I write off the taxes she paid on her car on my taxes since she is listed as a dependent?
