deducting home-office expenses

i am a consultant working for a company on regular payroll for 40 hrs a week. We have no official office to go into . We work from home and travel every other week. Question i have is : Can i write off my home office expenses since i have a dedicated room in my home being used as an office ? Also can i write off telephone, power, gas to extent of sq footage of home office? thanks for the time.
