new law i just heard that the 2011 farm bill had a clause snuck into it that removed the ten year statute of limitations for the IRS to collect back taxes . Back in 1990 I had an audit that the IRS failed to get me to sign the limitation line on .Once it ran out while they were going over things they told me because of the statute of limitations I no longer owed the money .SO , can they now come after me again for the 1990 taxes ? ? Second part is I was put on a non collectible for now status on some other taxes the statute is has run out on a year and will run out next year on the second . Is that all gone now ? I will owe these taxes for ever ? How can they do this under the table ? |
