Income from multiple states

Hey guys, please see if you can help a newbie out.

I used to live in MD, recently got married and moved to CT in April 2011. I have been using Turbotax to file this years taxes and this is my dilemma:

For the two months I actually worked in MD, I made roughly $10k and paid about $700 (Box 17, MD W-2)in state taxes.

I moved to CT and for the remainder of the year made roughly $57k at my CT job and paid $2900 (Box 17, CT W-2)in state income tax.

Turbotax says I can file federal as joint with my wife. But for state I have to file separately since I have to file state taxes for both MD and CT while she does not.

Turbotax calculates that I get $200 back in CT taxes. While for MD I actually OWE $4500. how can that be?

I think what is going on is that TurboTax is importing my total wage for the year (from the federal return) and seeing that I only paid $700 in taxes in MD, its saying that I owe 4500 more. Can anyone figure out whats going on? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

-Nick
