Please help student with SSDI

Hi - I receive SSDI as I am currently receiving treatment for chronic illness. I am currently attending school (trying) and want to know if I have to inform SSDI if I descide to apply to FAFSA for a loan or grant. More importantly, if I am offered a temporary College Assistanship that is part time for 8 months do I need to inform SSDI of this fiancianl assistantship? I live in NEW YORK.
