Filing as a college student

If I'm going to be a full-time college student, completely supporting myself with work-study and financial aid, and not really getting any money from my parents, can they still claim me as a dependent on their tax returns? Also, when I file my taxes, can I claim myself as an exemption in this case?

#1;no I don not thinkso to claim you, you did not provide more than half of your own support during the year.I mean they must have provided MORE THAN half of your support. Or if they did, then your gross income should not have been more than $3.9K for 2103.

#2;UNLESS they claim you on their return, yes you can claim your own exemption aslongas you file your return. However, for 2013, your gross income was less than $10K as single, you do not need to file your return.
