working in RI..Living in Mass...box 16 ??

I live in Massachusetts..work in RI..my question is this..for the first month of the year, my income was being taxed by both Mass and RI..payroll fixed this and only RI taxed me the remainder of the year. Box 16 shows the total income on the RI W2 and Box 16 shows another amount for the MASS W2...my dilemma..when I input this info into TurboTax or TaxAct...it adds the amounts in both box 16's together making it appear as if I earned more than I actually did. How is this rectified?
