Additional Tax for NJ LLC's

New Jersey also forces NJ LLC's to pay the tax for non resident shareholders of the LLC. This withholding tax is then taken as a credit on the non resident members NJ non resident tax return.

The tax paid by the LLC on behalf of the non resident member should be treated as a distribution. on the books of the LLC
