Don't panic! The market will improve over time once this credit squeeze ends and the uncertainty over US the elections is over. Hang in tight! The market is still volatile and so avoid speculation.

Maintain a long term approach in your investment philosophy. This is the only strategy for success in this market. Avoid short term trades, avoid speculation or margin buying, invest for 5 years, and employ a diversified portfolio. Avoid individual stocks as much as possible so as to mitigate risk!

Invest in the best known mutual funds, check out the mutual funds rankings, study the mutual funds well, try and follow the Fund Managers track record. In this manner, you will at least perform at or above the market.
