This policy might be disastrous as it will be a deterent to capital invesment. I learned this in Econ 101! Furthermore, a lot of fixed income earners are totally dependent on Dividends for their income and an increase in the effective tax rate will hurt this group.

Corporations will be tempted not to issue dividends! Again the people dependent on dividends will be hurt as well.

I don't think raising capital gains tax and increasing the dividend tax rate will help stimulate the US economy. Does anybody else agree with me with conclusion?
