What are Tax Policy's for the Presidential Candidates?

I will keep you posted on this, but as of yet I think Sen McCain has been spelling out in detail that the Bush tax cuts must be made permanent.

Sen Obama is talking about a more progressive tax policy and has even suggested a rollback of the Bush tax cuts.

However, I don't think any of the candidates have actually spelled out the end of the AMT tax for the middle class as of yet. This would be an incredibly costly initiative with respect costing tax revenues to the Treasury.

The more interesting proposal has come from Sen McCain in that he favors an increase in Estate Tax Exemptions to over $10m! This will effectively exempt most taxpayers from any estate taxes! However, this is has little or no chance of passing Congress in my opinion.

Sen Obama wants to restore the capital gains tax rate and raise the dividend tax rate to its original form. But, he has not specifically talked about the AMT tax rates or exemptions as of yet.
