Can I file an amended return for charitable cash deduction?

I certainly would consider filing an amended tax return. However, I would first get an estimate from my tax preparer, and determine the cost of filing an amended tax return, and compare it to the tax benefit I would be receiving from filing an amended tax return.

There is no reason technically why the IRS would disallow the filing of amended tax return if the taxpayer omitted to include an item of deduction that was legally allowable under the tax code!
