apartment rent?

My employer requires me to have an adress within a certain area, this is outside where my primary residence is by 188 miles. Is the apartment rent ever deductible?

Is the apartment rent ever deductible?==>>.it depends.; If you expect to work at the location for more than a year, you cannot deduct your rent, even if you return home sooner; If you expect the assignment to last no more than a year and you later find you will be working there for a longer time, the rent paid prior to learning of the extension is eligible, but the rent paid after you learn of the extension is not.

however, you can deduct your moving expenses. IRS.gov 503 Error Page

As you are an employee, you must work full time for at least 39 weeks during the first 12 months after you arrive in the general area of your new job location; the move has to be relatively close to your new job location. The distance from your new home to your new workplace cannot be more than the distance from your old home to the new job location. In addition, the move has to meet a distance test - the new workplace must be more than 50 miles farther away than your old workplace was from your old home.
